The VAR channel has always played a significant role in the launch and growth of high technology products and services.  In boom times, the channel is the most expeditious way to ramp a sales campaign. A channel affords the opportunity to scale sales activities more efficiently and reach customers at an exponentially faster pace than direct selling efforts.

In a down economy, as we are experiencing today, the channel could be the only means of sales success. Reaching out to customers while severely controlling costs is a significant challenge and the cause of hundreds of recent failures in high-tech startups. Companies struggling to operate on extremely tight budgets have failed to embrace channel partners to capture market share. 

The channel offers the ultimate variable cost model, requiring only a “piece of the action” when they succeed. And it is the least expensive way to follow up on leads and opportunities provided by your own marketing activities. Channel partners are ready, willing and able to drive sales opportunities on your behalf and respond to inbound leads and requests.
